4.7 magnitude quake fixed in southern Russia

A quake tremor of 4.7 magnitude on the Richter scale was fixed near Tuapse in southern Russia, the city’s seismology station said on Oct. 30.

"A tremor of 4.7 magnitude was fixed at 08:27 Moscow time at the depth of 2 kilometers," the seismology station’s representative said. "The epicenter was in the mountains, some 13 kilometers from the Nebug settlement."

The emergencies ministry had organized inspection of buildings and facilities in southern Russian Kuban area, press service of the ministry’s local branch said.

"We have received 31 calls from the people in connection with the earth tremor," the ministry said. "Specialists have inspected 36 villages and towns, checked all major facilities and found no victims or destruction."
