Fifty citizens of Russia and other CIS countries who want to leave conflict-stricken Yemen will be airlifted from Sanaa to Moscow, the deputy director of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's international activity department, Alexander Tomashov, told Interfax on Nov. 6.

"An airplane of Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry will transport 50 citizens of Russia and other CIS countries from Yemen's capital, the city of Sanaa, to Moscow," he said.

The Russian ministry's Ilyushin Il-76 plane took off from Sanaa at 1:20 p.m. Moscow time. The plane will make a refueling stopover in the Egyptian city of Aswan and will then continue its flight to Moscow. It is expected to land at the Domodedovo airport.
