Pictures of some of the newest resorts of Bulgaria - mostly along the Black Sea coast.
Bulgaria is experiencing a tourist boom for the last 6-7 years. It is currently regarded as the hottest up-and-coming destination by the major European tour operators. Luxurious hotels, condo complexes and resorts are being constantly built, attracting more foreign tourists and capital. As a result real estate prices sky-rocketed. In most resorts property prices per sq. meter tripled over a 5 year period.
Some of the most popular tourist areas in Bulgaria are Sunny Beach, Golden Sands, Albena, Sveti Vlas, Dyuni, the ancient towns of Nessebar and Sozopol on the Black Sea. Popular mountain and ski resorts are Borovets and Pamporovo. Newly established mountain tourism destinations are the historical town of Bansko in the Pirin mountains, and the uniquely preserved 16th century village of Arbanassi, near the medieval capital of Bulgaria - Veliko Turnovo. |
