MOSCOW, May 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russia"s government foreign debt stood at $44.1 billion as of April 1, 2008, down 1.8% against $44.9 billion on January 1, 2008, the Finance Ministry said on Monday. As of April 1, debt to the Paris Club of Creditor Nations stood at $1.6 billion, debt to countries outside the Paris Club equaled $2.2 billion and liabilities to former communist bloc countries amounted to $1.5 billion. As of the reporting date, former Soviet debt to commercial lenders stood at $0.7 billion and liabilities to international financial institutions amounted to $5.0 billion. Russia"s Eurobonds as of April 1 were estimated at $28.6 billion and government domestic foreign currency-denominated bonds (OVGVZ) at $4.5 billion, the Finance Ministry said.
