PACE President to attend PABSEC General Assembly in Moscow in late June

The heads of several international entities, among them Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) President Pedro Agramunt, will take part in meetings of the General Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) to begin in Moscow on June 28, the State Duma said in a report.

"Events of the 47th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) will be held in Moscow on June 28-30, 2016; they will be attended by national delegations from ten PABSEC member countries (Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Serbia and Turkey), as well as representatives of France and nine international organizations acting as observers," the report said.

PACE President Agramunt, Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC) President Janis Vucans, Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states (PUIC) Secretary General Mahmud Kilic, and Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative (CEI) head Monica Tomic will make appearances at the assembly meetings.

On the last day of the Assembly, State Duma Speaker and PABSEC Chairman Sergei Naryshkin will transfer the presidency in the organization to the Republic of Serbia. The recently re-elected president of the Serbian parliament, Maja Gojkovic, will visit Moscow for this purpose, the State Duma said.

The Assembly is due to adopt a declaration on achieving peace, stability and prosperity of the Black Sea economic cooperation region via economic collaboration.
