Palestine bid referred to experts

According to the Russian UN Ambassador Vitali Churkin, the Security Council has referred the Palestinian sovereignty bid to evaluation by experts.

In a formal paper handed a week ago to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, President Mahmoud Abbas asked the UN to recognize the Palestinian entity as a sovereign state and admit it to full membership.
