MOSCOW, May 21 (RIA Novosti) - According to updated figures, the collision of two trains near Moscow injured 51 people, a representative of regional EMERCOM told RIA Novosti.

"As of 6:00 am [2:00 am GMT], the casualty toll reached 45 people, 25 of them were taken to the hospitals. Six people were killed," the representative said.

Most of the victims are citizens of Moldova, about five or six Russians have received injuries, Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova reported earlier.

Meanwhile, a list of the victims was published on the website of the regional Ministry of Health. It has been divided into hospitals in which the injured people were taken. Among them are the wounded, whose names are known, as well as yet unidentified victims of the tragedy.

"The investigation team is working to determine the cause of the accident, but according to preliminary data, the freight train could derail because of the broken rail, poor state of the freight train or violations in the actions of the train’s brigade," the EMERCOM official reminded.

Two trains collided in the Moscow region on Tuesday. The accident happened at the railroad line between Naro-Fominsk and Bekasovo, when a freight train derailed and collided into a long-distance passenger train going from Moscow to Chisinau.
