The American auction house Profiles in History hopes to get up to $500 thousand for a wedding ring of Marylin Monroe at a trading session on December 15th. The item is made of platinum and carries 35 small diamonds. It was presented to the actress in 1954 by her first husband, the baseball star Joe DiMaggio. Profiles in History is also auctioning off the elegant red shoes of Judy Garland worn by her in The Wizard of Oz. The pair may fetch up to $3mn. (RIAN)
