Mohamed Khazaal, also known by his nickname Don Mo, who currently lives in Moscow, believes that Russia will succeed in the fight against Daesh (Islamic State) militants.

The rapper released the new song "Damask," named after the Syrian capital Damascus.

The lyrics of Khazaal's song praise Russian soldiers, who "hit their targets right from the Caspian Sea," and Sukhoi planes, which are "destroying Daesh from the sky."

"We in Palestine live with pain and protest, and try to express our feelings and experiences through classical poetry in Arabic, but who would listen to poetry? That's why I use rap, which is a proven way to express your thoughts and draw people's attention to a particular problem, especially young people," Khazaal told Sputnik.

The rapper is convinced that after the fall of the Soviet Union, Arabic nations lost their main ally. However, now Russia is back and it's helping Syria to battle terrorism.

Russia doesn't bomb civilians, as its planes hit their targets precisely, the rapper told Sputnik, adding that it was the reason why he decided to record the song.

Russia has been carrying out an aerial campaign against terrorist groups in Syria since late September at the request of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Since the start of the Russian aerial campaign, Russian combat aircraft have conducted over 6,000 sorties hitting terrorist targets, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
