The carrier rocket "Proton-M" with a communications satellite has been launched from Baikonur.  The launch was conducted on behalf of one of the world's largest providers of telecommunications services - corporation "SES”.

  The new satellite is designed to broadcast digital television on the territory of Mexico, and North and Central America. Estimated time of service is 15 years.

  In August, a ban was in force on preparing “Proton-M” carrier rockets with "Briz-M" boosters after the unsuccessful launch of a Russian satellite.

  On September 21 “Proton-M” launches were renewed.
