Saturday, 29 October 2016 08:16

The plan, on which Russia has been working, an analog to the Marshall Plan, will be an input in development of the entire Middle East, advisor to the Syrian president, Bouthaina Shaaban said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television channel on Oct. 29.

"The only way to rescue and restore this country (Syria) is a national plan," she said. "It would be a huge input in development of Syria, the Middle East, and in establishment of peace and security worldwide."

Earlier, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said the colossal scale of damage in the Middle East requires long-term and complex program, a sort of the Marshall Plan, to revive the region.

"The Marshall Plan" is a long-term program ("European Recovery Program") after World War II. Its author is the U.S. statesman State George Marshall. Europe’s 17 countries participated in the Plan’s implementation.
