Russia is banning importation of squash and pumpkins from Turkey effective from May 19.

"The decision has now been made to impose temporary restrictions on the importation of squash and pumpkins, since they have been found to contain items quarantinable by Russia," the deputy head of Russian food safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, Yulia Shvabauskene, told Interfax on May 16.

On December 1, 2015, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved the list of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs of Turkish origin, banned from import to Russia.

In addition to the vegetables and fruits already announced by the Russian authorities, the list now includes poultry (frozen parts and byproducts of chickens and turkeys), salt and fresh cloves.
