The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on Nagorny Karabakh will have consultations with the countries of the Minsk Group in Vienna for the purpose of de-escalating the conflict, sources in the OSCE headquarters told Interfax on April 3.

"Bearing in mind the sharp aggravation of the situation in the conflict zone, the three co-chairs of the Minsk group will have consultations with the countries of the Minsk Group in Vienna on Tuesday, April 5," sources told Interfax.

"The meeting participants will discuss the steps to promptly reduce military tensions and come up with collective measures to help calm down the situation and bring it into a political realm," the sources said.

According to their information, the three co-chairs of the Minsk group at the beginning of next week will also have a serious talk with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German foreign minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.

The OSCE Minsk Group is co-chaired by Russia, France and the U.S. Among the permanent members of the Minsk Group are Belarus, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Turkey, and also Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The three OSCE co-chairs earlier issued a statement condemning the use of force in the conflict zone and called on the parties in conflict to cease fire and take all necessary measures to stabilize the situation.
