Russia 10:27 22.11.2014(updated 11:08 22.11.2014) MOSCOW, November 22 (Sputnik) — Moscow does not think that North Korean nuclear program poses direct threat to Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador at large Grigory Logvinov said on Saturday.
“We do not consider DPRK’s nuclear program as a direct threat to the Russian Federation,” he said during Moscow Non-proliferation Conference 2014. North Korea declared itself a nuclear power in 2005 and conducted a series of underground nuclear weapon tests in 2006, 2009 and 2013. Pyongyang’s nuclear program has triggered multiple protests from the international community. The last six-party talks comprising North and South Korea, Russia, the United States, China and Japan on Pyongyang's nuclear program were held in December 2008. Since then, North Korea conducted two more nuclear tests and the negotiations stalled.
