Yury Rogulev, director of the Franklin Roosevelt Center for U.S. Studies at Moscow State University: The situation looks very bad right now, I mean the political situation in Washington. What we have witnessed during the last month is inability of political representatives to reach a compromise. It took them too long to reach an agreement and the prospects for the new bill, the so-called American Jobs Bill, presented by the administration of President Obama are not very good. The Republicans are directly saying that the bill has been dead since the very beginning, long before it was introduced at the hearings. And it looks like the White House is changing its tactics as well. Some indications show that Obama wants to switch to the outside support for his measure.
